  • Multiple questions with Oracle Linux

    1. Is there a way to display what patches/packages are available for installation before it is installed? i am looking for something similar to "yum updateinfo list security"

    2. i tried to do an update on my test system. it seems it has installed a normal kernel instead of a UEK oracle kernel. how do i enforce that it should installed the UEK kernel?

    3. the output of kcarectl --latest-patch-info lists out a lot of patches that does not seem to be relevant for my system (ol7) as i see ubuntu and debian stuff.

    4. Are the patches/packages provided by KernelCare the same as that released by Oracle? Am just worried about support in case the system experience any problem.

    Hello James,
    Thank you for reaching out!
    1. To do this, please use the given command

    Code:
    kcarectl --check
it will show the fact that there are updates, without details.
2, 3. There we need more information, could you please provide the kernelcare doctor information https://docs.kernelcare.com/command-...nelcare-doctor and create a ticket here https://(https://docs.kernelcare.com...s/requests/new so our technical experts will help you asap.
    4. We provide our own patches that are based on the changes presented by the kernel maintainer (in this case, Oracle). You can find the latest updates here https://patches.kernelcare.com/#All%20Kernels#
