Is this something well get a patch for with an update when it becomes available or do we need to take preventative measures in the meantime?

Seem to be having a bit of an issue with the update. Apparently one of our server guy has already been working on updating, but its hanging on

        Running Transaction
        Installing : kernel-headers X 1/13

Hes still working on it, but figured Id post in case this is something that anyone else has run into.

All the repositories are up and running.
          Maybe something RPM/yum

If RPM itself doesn work (just do rpm -qa -- and it gets stuck, you have a problem)
          do:
          # rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
          # rpm -vv --rebuilddb
