  • CL5 and PMEM

    Hi,

What looks like the ETA for CL5 and PMEM to be in production?

    Thanks
    Frank

We don get enough feedback on our beta kernel. It seems it is fully stable, but we want more people testing it/providing feedback before we are ready to push it into production.

After installing new kernel I would like to switch from vMEM to PMEM. Does one need to update anything else to bring up this option in LVE Manager?

        root@server [~]# uname -a
        Linux server.gcwebhosting.us 2.6.18-408.8.2.el5.lve0.8.61.3 #1 SMP Wed Jul 11 06:49:35 EDT 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

        And

        root@server [~]# rpm -qa|grep lve
        lve-stats-0.9-8.el5
        lve-utils-1.1-8.el5.cloudlinux
        kernel-2.6.18-408.8.2.el5.lve1.1.65.3
        kernel-2.6.18-408.8.2.el5.lve0.8.61.3
        lve-1.1-0.39.el5.cloudlinux
        liblve-devel-1.1-0.39.el5.cloudlinux
        kmod-lve-2.6.18-408.8.2.el5.lve1.1.65.3-1.1-9.9.el5
        lve-wrappers-0.5-11.el5.cloudlinux
        liblve-1.1-0.39.el5.cloudlinux
        kernel-headers-2.6.18-408.8.2.el5.lve0.8.61.3

You have to reboot, so that new kernel would be detect by LVE Manager.

            Oh man sometimes....

Anywhos concerning this new item I am seeing:
            Number of procecces (nPROC)

How is that different then Entry Process? Do the two work hand in hand or are they on different levels?

            Thanks
            Frank

each request to CGI/PHP script (entry process) can result in 3, 5, 10000 processes (nproc) created.
