    Further integration with cPanel/WHM ?

I just setup a new Xen domain with CloudLinix and installed cPanel. So far everything looks good and Im understanding how LVE and mod_hostinglimits can work here.

I was wondering if CloudLinux is planning on doing more to integrate with cPanels package manager or a similar solution that would allow us to automate setting an accounts cpu limits from within cPanel/WHM?

Or is this something we should start developing on our own?

    Thanks,
    James

    James,

At this moment we don plan to provide plugins. Our hope is that if we provide command line tools, and there is enough demand from end users -- control panel providers will add such tools themselves. I spoke with control panel vendors -- and they told me that if they see demand from their client base, they would implement it.
Some (not cPanel) already have a schedule for it.

Of course our plans might chance, but at this moment I am concentrating all dev. resources that I have on improving LVE, adding IO & MySQL limits.

A cPanel plugin would be a very useful addition. We could look at a community developed option?

I would be more then happy to help.

      Best regards

            Yes Igor is right

We are working in a cpanel pluging for resource control based in Cloudlinux, a beta version should be out soon (around a month)

                Guillermo,

If you need beta testers, Ill be happy to help as well.

Will this be a free plugin or are you planning this as a commercial offering?

                Thanks,
                James

It will be a commercial plugin but nothing expensive

                  Some planed features:

                  - Resource control (CPU, MySQL and I/O) for end users
                  - Resource control (CPU, MySQL and I/O) for resellers
                  - Ability to set resource quota per package
                  - End user can see their current and past resource usage from their cpanel
                  - Resellers can see and set resource quotas for their customers
                  - Resource abusers can be auto suspended or alerted by email

I will update this post as soon as we have a working beta, please let me know if you have any other suggestion

                  Guillermo
