  • cPanel install fails on CL server

    Hello,

We had 2 cPanel installs fail last night in the exact same manner. Here is the process we followed:

    - Install CentOS V5
    - Run cpanel2cl -k (we are a cPanel NOC partner)
    - Server rebooted
    - Downloaded and ran cPanel installer.

The cPanel installer log then contains:

The ssh session to the server eventually times out after the libgfortran and the install halts.

We have a ticket open with cPanel but I figured we try this from oth sites to try to resolve it quicker. My guess is there was an issue with the CL repositories last night (times are all Central US).

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as we want to get these servers built and on-line today.

I haven seen any issues with repositories today.
if possible - I would like to check it on your servers, run strace against yum/rpm when it runs.
Please, also feel free to submit ticket at helpdesk.cloudlinux.com (or we can work with cPanel guys) to resolve it.

      Hello Mr. Seletskiy,

This was actually from last night. Well be rebuilding the servers tomorrow morning and trying again so Ill report back how it goes. Well try to strace it, but Im not 100% sure someone will be sitting and watching the install.

The solution was actually quote simple (but different than the documentation). It appears that since we
e already licensed via cPanel (we are a NOC partner) all we had to do was install cPanel/WHM. It detected we were licensed and installed both.
