Does CloudLinux 7 Increase Resource Limits?

    Hello everyone,

My hosting provider recently upgraded from CloudLinux 7 to CloudLinux 8 (along with a migration from CentOS 7 to AlmaLinux 8).

However, after the upgrade, I've been constantly receiving "Hosting account resources exceeded" warnings, whereas I didn't encounter this problem before. It feels like resources have been reduced or restricted.

The hosting support team says the OS upgrade doesn't affect user I/O or resource usage. Is this a common issue after a CloudLinux upgrade?

What should I check or ask them to review?

    Thank you everyone!

The OS upgrade does not affect user I/O or resource usage. It is possible they changed some limits or installed mysqlgovernor as well. Unfortunately, this is not a simple question for your hosting company; several aspects will need to be reviewed by them.

Alternatively, your website may have begun receiving more visitors, and the IO usage is a direct result of that. Or you installed some backup plugin, which are known of IO spikes.
