  • Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS HWE Kernel 5.4.0-66 generic not recognized

KernelCare (as part of imunify 360) was working great on Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS on Plesk.
Then I switched to HWE for Kernel 5 as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEn..._Bionic_Beaver

Now kernel care does not even show the Kernel in imunify 360, and when I install the kernel care extension separately, it just says 5.4.0-66-generic (as effective and real version) and "unsupported kernel, contact helpdesk.cloudlinux.com for more info".

So what to do / how to get Kernal Care working again?

On another machine with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (which unfortunately is not yet supported by Imunify 360 and Quickpatch) Kernel Care still runs smoothly and is showing 5.4.0-66.74 as effective and 5.4.0-64-generic as real.

    Thanks!

And everything seems to be proper for it: https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic-u...4.0-66-generic

No worries, support for this kernel will be added soon. No action is required on your side - it will start patching it as soon as this kernel is added to the list of supported.

        Hi Alexandre,
thanks a lot for your quick answer and competent + helpful information as always (also when I asked about imunify 360).

Thats great to hear! So Ill simply stay with Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS on Plesk with Kernel 5 for a while, well protected by kernel care (as part of imunify 360), Quickpatch and imunify 360, and once all of them will be fully compatible with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS its time for me to switch.
