Unfortunately, direct conversion from CloudLinux to AlmaLinux is not supported.
What was the original OS before installing CloudLinux? The options you have is to uninstall CloudLinux (which should bring the previous OS) and then convert it to AlmaLinux with their script.

Can you show the error why it failed?

I did this before but I highly don't recommend it. There could be somethings afterwards you need to ensure like setting correct kernel and removing some customizations.
Setup a new server is best and just use a migration tool to copy content across especially if you use cPanel or Directadmin etc.
