Is Liquid Web really dropping support for CloudLinux?

I was just asking a tech about upgrading to CloudLinux 8 and he said they don't support it and we should upgrade to Almalinux 8. I found this pretty surprising since they are so similar but CloudLinux has great tools for hosting. If it's true, any recommendations for similar hosting providers?

Indeed, they do propose CloudLinux7, however from chatting I was informed that CL 8 is still in the works but it's not yet officially offered.

Seems strange since CL8 has been out for a while now and since cPanel's new versions don't support CL7 anymore. CL9 seems not too far around the corner. Do you know if there is any way I can check what they support without having to manually ask someone?

I was not able to find any details on what exactly is supported by them. I am sure they meant 'support' as something different and if you go with AlmaLinux then convert it to CloudLinux 8 or install CloudLinux from .iso image it will work absolutely with no issues.
