How to install/migrate to cloudlinux 6.4

  • #2
    Hello,

I need to install explicitly CL6.4, however due to hardware incompatibility the installation gets stalled ( the same happens with RAID and without).
I can install 5.9 without problems but it looks like upgrading to 6.4 is no easy task from there. I can also install any version of RH/CentOS without issues, so I would very appreciate an advice regarding the proper/fastest way to rick the system, if possible.
So, CL5.9 upgrading to CL6.4 or Centos clean install and then converting? If so what release would be the most appropriate?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hi,

Not sure if I understand... why do you need 6.4 (where install fails) but not latest 6.6 ?

Well, that is beyond my influence, Bogdan.
It was indeed very easy to convert to CL6.6 after installing CentOS 6.5 and everything went smoothly without any errors.
However, CL6.4 is still the preferable option.

Well, the only one way to install CloudLinux 6.4 is to find an .iso file and use it for install ( here http://repo.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux/6.4/iso/x86_64/ ) . Then disable yum updates.

However we strongly do not recommend doing this as server will be totally vulnerable as no security updates will be applied.
