Which ModSecurity version, module for Apache w/ NGINX reverse proxy?

Hello, I'm setting up an Apache server w/ NGINX reverse proxy and DirectAdmin.

Per the documentation, I'm looking at setting up Imunify360 as a stand-alone installation. It says different prerequisites are needed for Apache and NGINX servers, but I'm not sure which applies for this use case.

For example, it says "ModSecurity 2.9.x for Apache, or ModSecurity 3.0.x for Nginx." Which one should I use for this Apache+NGINX server?
