    DNF update, MariaDB Problems.

    Hi,

On one server, it is impossible to do a dnf update, it seems there is a conflict with different versions of MariaDB.

    Code:
    Error: Transaction test error:

I've experienced the same issue on our servers, the following article fixed the issue.

      Howdy pierre,

This is definitely not supposed to happen, can you try to upgrade to the same MariaDB version again using our Python script?

      Here are the exact commands:

      Code:
      /usr/share/lve/dbgovernor/mysqlgovernor.py --mysql-version=mariadb103
      /usr/share/lve/dbgovernor/mysqlgovernor.py --install
Even though this upgrade/install (to the same version, to see if solves the issues with the packages) doesn't touch /var/lib/mysql other than the main MySQL database, you should always create a backup of /var/lib/mysql, just in case. Once you've performed the two commands above, then you can try to run: yum clean all && yum update

Please give it a try and do keep us posted

        Thank you Miguel.
I tried to follow the documentation to correctly backup Mysql but, anyhow, it seems outdated and/or my server doesn't recognize the --skip-networking and --skip-grant-tables options.
Note, this is a fresh server installation from 2 months ago.
Beside this, the current installed MariaDB version seems to be 10.6 (Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.6.14-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.1) and not 10.3. Could this be part of the problem ?

          Hey there,

Thank you for the further information.

Yes, that's most likely the issue.

          Please run:

          Code:
          rpm -qa|grep MariaDB*
          Let us know the results

              Hey,

              Thank you.

As I suspected, you've got MariaDB 10.6 but somehow yum is trying tor retrieve packages for the wrong MariaDB version.

I'd recommend you to open a ticket with us - our team is available to help 24/7 and we'll sort this for you - sorry it can't be done via the forums, but this does requires us to investigate further :-)

                      Hi John!

Thank you for updating us, I appreciate it.

That indeed fixes it - it's an incompatibility and we've had a few clients affected with the given package.

I'm glad it's all sorted now.

Should you need anything else you'll always be welcome to! :-)

                      Have an excellent day!
