  • Installing CloudLinux on Plesk server

    Hello guys,

When running the CloudLinux installer Im getting the following error,

    [root@ ~]# sh centos2cl -k key
    Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
    Cleaning up Everything
Cleaning up list of fastest mirrors
    kernel-devel-2.6.32.41-4.art

    kernel-headers-2.6.32.41-4.art
    kernel-firmware-2.6.32.41-4.art

    kernel-2.6.32.43-6.art
Your server has non-standard kernel installed (see above)
To resolve the issue, we can unregister this kernel RPM from RPM database.
Do you want to do that [Y/N]: y
Removing non-standard kernels from RPM database
    error: Failed dependencies:
kernel-devel is needed by (installed) systemtap-1.3-4.el5_6.1.x86_64
kernel >= 2.6.12-1.1411_FC5 is needed by (installed) pcmciautils-014-5.x86_64
kernel >= 2.6.9-11 is needed by (installed) systemtap-runtime-1.3-4.el5_6.1.x86_64
kernel >= 2.6.9-11 is needed by (installed) systemtap-1.3-4.el5_6.1.x86_64
kernel-headers is needed by (installed) glibc-headers-2.5-58.el5_6.3.x86_64
    kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 is needed by (installed) glibc-headers-2.5-58.el5_6.3.x86_64

and then the process continues, is this something I should worry about? The server rebooted into the lve kernel and /etc/redhat-release shows CloudLinux Server release 5.6 but just wanted to make sure anything went wrong or if its safe to uninstall CloudLinux without making my system to be unbooteable.

    Thanks!

It seems there is some dependency issue with packages., and I don think our kernel got installed.
Please, submit a ticket to helpdesk.cloudlinux.com with server access info -- and we will help resolving it.
And yes, you should be able to uninstall without any problems, just don remove any kernels -- our kernel wasn installed anyway.
